Samira Mohamud

Samira Mohamud is a quiet 16 year old girl with a story to tell. She was born in Kenya and moved to the United States when she was just two years old. However she did not leave her roots behind, for she comes to school dressed in the traditional head covering and clothes. I am impressed by this because I know others who wonder and are curious about her choice for wearing this, and it does not seem to phase her. Before she came to Gahanna Schools Samira recieved an education at Mifflin Schools in Columbus. She lives with her mom, her dad, four brothers, one sister, and she is the oldest!
Samira has many interests inside and outside of school. When she finishes high school she plans to go on to college to become a doctor. She says that she would to "prefer to be a surgeon". Outside of school Samira likes to read books and play soccer. Her favorite professional soccer team is Chelsea. She does not have any pets, and her favorite food is a funny named dish called Sambuza which consists of meatballs. Finally, the T.V. shows that she likes watching most is Zeke and Luther. Its amazing how much I learned from just a short interview with a quiet but amazing girl.
